A Brief History, written by P J Edmonds (Chairman) 2007

In 1970 Mr W Knight passed away, followed by Mr D W Edmonds in 1975. All the time the business was steadily growing.

I became the chairman of the company in 1976, then my eldest son Nicholas joined the company in 1983. Whilst still expanding and erecting new stores and offices it became evident that to continue expansion we needed a new site.

Mr A Knight retired from working in 1990 and in 1991 I negotiated for and purchased a new site of 1.5 acres at Wirral Park, Glastonbury. At this point my youngest son Simon joined the company in 1992, and together with Nicholas was made a director.

We erected a store and offices of approximately 22,000 square feet and moved in during 1991. In November 2002 myself and my family acquired the whole of the shareholding in the company.

Since then the company has purchased a further acre and erected another store, and now in 2007 we have expanded the offices and showroom still further.
